Black Robe Review

Black Robe

The movie Black Robe is about a Jesuit priest who seeks to change the Indian tribes in Canada while trying to survive a cold winter. I was completetly enthralled in this movie because the film shows the cultural outbreak between the Europens, Native Americans, and the French. I also admired how Father Laforgue was always very understandable and who’s journey is the main plot of the film. He gets lost in the jpurney to the the cathedral but is found by Algonquin hunters. Its amazing how this Jesuit priest wants to bring catholic faith to the Indians of the French colony. I was just so overwhelmed and driven by the film that it haunted me how the great passion of the priest sole purpose is to save people and culture, even if he doesnt understand it.
