I have probably seen more gold chains with a cross on them in my lifetime than I have seen clouds in the sky. For some reason in hispanic culture, in my case mostly Cubans, it is a sort of ‘trend’ or ‘tradition’ for many to sport a gold chain with some sort of religious pendant on it. As a young child kid I thought of those crosses as a religious sign for catholic individuals but have learned, that obviously it does not belong to just them. The symbol can represent many beliefs, from catholicism, to evangilist to those that wear it just because it is passed down from generation to generation. The gold chain is proof of the plethora of perspectives one thing can lead to, tying to an interpretation of religion itself you could say.
