Karina Bravo’s Movie Review (Luther)

Luther is a stunning film and a great way to learn church history. The film follows the life and ministry of Martin Luther, leader of the Protestant Reformation. Joseph Fiennes plays Luther, a monk, priest, and finally professor of theology who discovers the message of love and grace in available to him in the Bible, a book most people, even priests, are not permitted to read. Sincerely trying to do the right thing, he spurs a revolution that goes far beyond the walls of the church to affect the lives of the common people as well as Christians everywhere. This film pretty accurately portrays the abuses of the Catholic Church of the time and is a great way for Protestants and Catholics alike to get in touch with their roots. I loved this movie and would see it over and over again. I highly recommend it.
