Just yesterday I argued with my friend Nick about whether or not Tebow is a decent quarterback, which has nothing to do with religious symbols. But while talking about Tim Tebow, I figured he’d make a fantastic representation of religion being implemented in everyday life. What Tebow lacks in athletic ability, he makes up for in religious devotion. During Tebow’s final year at the University of Florida, it was not uncommon to see a “John 3:16” sign at one of his games. He is the perfect example of a celebrity who made a religion temporarily prevalent in pop culture during the 2008 NCAA season. Tebow went on to accomplish nothing after that.
