For the Megan Project, I chose my dog Bruno as being the most religious because for some time, animals are always part of some special event and usually they are the ones that are worshiped by other people. Some examples of our companions being in the religious community include in Christianity where a poor man named Lazarus, who was infected with the plague and he went to the forest expecting to die. However, a dog befriended Lazarus and healed him from his sores by licking them and brought him food as well. In fact, the feast day of Saint Roch, August 16, is celebrated in Bolivia as the “Birthday of all Dogs”. Another example includes Anubis, which is the Ancient Egyptian Religion, and dogs were associated with Anubis. These examples show that not only dogs can be great companions and they are cute too, they can also be part of the religious community.
