In my analysis I’m going to be more focused on around why it was such a big deal Luther messed up his first mass. It was because of this event that got the movie rolling and already showed he causes quite the commotion. It’s important during some religions to do it correct as it’s a ritual into adulthood and others because they mark significant importance. He wanted to become a monk and couldn’t do a mass this sparked many flags but this lead him to travel down a different road. We see shortly after Luther talking to the devil, which shows the audience his conflictions. He looks down on himself because of the importance, as well as all those in attendance, during the mass, they showed their lack of comfort during his failure, they showed no support, which shows the social involvement in the ritual.
