Megan Project 2 – Religion reflected in Government

One place religion claims to not be found but is evident, is in government. In government, there is a reflection of religious basis and influence. This can be seen in our obsession of sacred scripture (Constitutions, Bill of Rights – Bible, Torah, etc.) and where certain rules/laws originate from. U.S. law is a great example of Christian influence in government, our laws resonate those put down by the Bible.

Another situation in government where religion is crucial is in politics and elected office. In America, it is very hard to be elected to public office as an atheist or just as someone who has a “different” religious affiliation than the majority of the population because you’re seen as below or incapable because of the lack of spiritual guidance.
