God on Trial Review
The film “God on Trial” literally puts God on trial with a charge of murder. The Jewish people that were putting God on trial were basically acting as if they could or could not justify God’s involvement in the Holocaust. The men argue on and on until they reach a verdict: he is guilty. How is God guilty on the behalf of someone else’s actions? According to the movie, God is guilty of letting the Holocaust happen. In the end, they end up in gas chamber. As they face death, each man places their hand on their head as if it were a kippah while they pray together. Even when they find God guilty they still pray, but why?
